Technical innovation
Aixam's moped cars are equipped with Kubota or Lombardini engines, providing up to 6.2 kW of power for diesel models. Their electric models, such as the e-Coupé GTI, offer an eco-friendly solution for city travel. The vehicles feature a continuously variable transmission (CVT) and are designed for a top speed of 45 km/h.
Electric Vehicle Development
Aixam has been a pioneer in the development of electric microcars, introducing its first electric vehicle in 2003. The company's e-Aixam range has since evolved to offer a variety of models designed for urban mobility with zero emissions. These vehicles combine the practicality of license-free driving with the benefits of sustainable transportation.
The e-Aixam lineup features compact yet versatile models that provide an autonomy of up to 130 kilometers on a single charge. Charging is facilitated through a standard domestic socket or charging terminals, with a full charge requiring approximately 3 hours and 40 minutes. To ensure reliability, Aixam includes a 5-year warranty on the battery system.
By emphasizing silent operation and reduced environmental impact, Aixam's electric vehicles have become a key part of the company's strategy to meet the increasing demand for eco-friendly urban transport. This commitment positions Aixam as a significant contributor to sustainable mobility within the microcar market.
History
The company began its journey by launching the 325D model in 1984, followed by the 400D in 1985. In 1992, the Mega brand was introduced, focusing on light utility vehicles and electric cars. In recent years, Aixam has continued its success with innovative electric microcars like the e-City and e-Truck.
Safety
Safety is a priority for Aixam. While moped cars have limitations, Aixam vehicles offer significantly better protection than two-wheeled mopeds, particularly during winter driving. Models such as the Aixam Crossover GTR have been tested by EuroNCAP, and Aixam continues to improve its safety standards.
