Chatenet microcars are known for having a variety of braking systems across their models, and it’s not uncommon for the system to change over time. In this guide, we’ll help you determine which braking system is on your Chatenet microcar. Since Chatenet has updated the braking systems in their vehicles over the years, it’s possible for a model to have different systems depending on the year.
Kailing Braking System:
The latest Chatenet models use the Kailing braking system, which features 225mm brake discs both front and rear, a first for any Chatenet model. These models include: CH26 V3, CH28 V3, CH30 V3, CH32 V3, Sporteevo, CH40, and CH46.
Gimec Braking System:
From the 2013/2014 model year onwards, Chatenet vehicles are equipped with the Gimec braking system. This system includes 225mm brake discs at the front and 100mm brake drums at the rear. Models with this system include: CH26 V2, CH28 V2, CH30 V2, and CH32 V2.
Coram Braking System:
Chatenet used the Coram braking system up until 2013/2014. This includes models such as Chatenet Media, Barooder, CH26 V1, CH28 V1, CH30 V1, and CH32 V1. These vehicles feature 170mm or 210mm brake discs at the front and 100mm brake drums at the rear.
