Resetting the Service Light on Ligier and Microcar Models
Servicing your microcar yourself can be a cost-effective and rewarding experience. Not only do you save money, but you also gain control over the maintenance tasks performed. In this article, we guide you through the process of removing the "wrench" icon from the dashboard after servicing, which isn't always straightforward. This guide works for Ligier and Microcar models manufactured after around 2008. The following models are supported:
Supported Ligier Models
- Ligier X-Too (tested for models with a dashboard above the steering wheel)
- IXO
- JS50
- JS50L
- JS60
- And more...
Supported Microcar Models
- Microcar M.GO
- Dué models
Steps to Reset the Service Light:
- Sit in the driver's seat and close the door.
- Turn the ignition on (to the last position before the start position), then turn it off again.
- Open the door, but remain seated in the car.
- While holding down the left button next to the speedometer, turn the ignition on and release the button while the ignition is on. Turn the ignition off and on again, and the light should be off.
If it doesn’t work on the first try, repeat the process. Sometimes, poor timing can cause the procedure to fail.
Important Note
It is never a good idea to reset the service light without performing the recommended service. Ignoring proper maintenance intervals can lead to faster wear on engine components, increased risk of breakdowns, and poorer engine performance over time. This can result in higher fuel consumption and other costly problems.
