Wrong gear position on the dashboard?

Is your moped car displaying the wrong gear position on the dashboard?

This issue is most likely caused by faulty micro switches connected to the gear selector. These switches tell the car whether it's in Drive (D), Neutral (N), or Reverse (R). If they fail, the reverse warning system may stop working, or the car may refuse to start because it "thinks" it's in D or R.

How to replace the micro switches:

1. Remove the heat shield beneath the gear selector (you may need to slightly move the exhaust pipe).
2. Unscrew the bolts securing the gear selector from underneath, then remove the shift knob inside the car by loosening a screw on its backside.
3. Carefully lift out the gear selector.
4. Disconnect the wiring and replace the micro switches.

It’s recommended to replace both switches, as they are located on each side of the gear selector. To access them, you’ll need to remove the gear selector assembly from underneath the car while it's lifted or on jack stands.
